History
The history of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament is rooted in the spiritual journey of Blessed Peter Vigne, a 17th century Ardèche priest driven by an intense love of the Eucharist and of the poor and destitute. This section deals with the major stages of this human and spiritual adventure: the life of Peter Vigne, the foundation of the congregation in 1715 in Boucieu-le-Roi, the development of the religious community through the centuries. You will also discover, how despite many challenges, the sisters have continued to maintain and transmit their founder’s missionary spirit.
The Peter Vigne Way is an exceptional illustration of the Way of the Cross in beautiful countryside and comprises 39 stations, reflecting on the Passion and Ressurection of Jesus and the coming of the Holy Spirit.
“Every founder is a like a WORD, which in its depths bears the divine charity which enlivens and unites all things”.
